Susan Russick of Northwestern University Library presented a Mini-Workshop on Gellan Gum at Conservation Center - March 2018:

Gellan gum, is a rigid polysaccharide gel, has recently been introduced as a useful material for several types of book and paper conservation treatments - from local humidification and poulticing to overall washing. It also holds possibilities for other conservation specialities.
