After a successful two-year national tour, Mummies return to the Field for exhibition here from March 16, 2018 - April 21, 2019. Drawing entirely on the Field's collections the exhibition presents both Egyptian and Peruvian mummification traditions through the Lens of applied imaging technologies.

Conservator JP Brown, now in his 15th year at the Field, is an expert content developer for the exhibition. Brown collaborated with the Field's Curator of Physical Anthropology Dr. Robert Martin and Anthropology curators to study the mummies, directing the imaging and computerized segmentation of captured data for each one. This project allowed Brown to apply his academic training in both object conservation and computer science.
